I made Lily's bear costume for Halloween. She loved dressing up and going trick or treating this year! I enjoyed watching her run as fast as her little legs could carry her...trying to keep up with her friends! She doesn't get candy very often, so she was in heaven with a whole basket full!
she's a d o r a b l e.

What a great seamstress you are Charla & such an adorable little bear she was! Enjoyed watching the 3 little ones running from one house to the next and Clay telling everyone "HAPPY HALOWEEN!!" after getting his candy! :)

hey Charla Anne~
I just wanted to send you a note, not sure if you check all of these comments though. I was not sure where to post it. I just discovered you and one of your sisters today. I have spent so much time looking through all of you pictures. I am so sad, (but totally understand) when I discovered I could not buy my sweet girl one of your cute dolls, or one of your cute hand made dresses. I am not sure if you were even selling the dresses you make, but they are amazing! I am such a picky person and your clothes for your sweet lily are exactly what I would want my Mia~Elliott to wear. Did you sell clothes on your shop? Are you again? Now for my main question. I am 36 and just starting the journey of making my little girl's clothing. She is only 7 months. I could send you her first dress, but you may laugh too hard. My husband got me the sewing machine a couple of years ago, and it literally set, with all my pretty fabric, for a year because i was too afraid i would mess it up. Yes, I am a perfectionist:(
I want to be good at making clothing, and I want them to look just like yours! How would you encourage me with my adventure. Is there a book that really helped you, or have you been sewing all your life? Please help! If i lived closer I would make you give me lessons:) but dont worry I live in Georgia. You do not have to post this, I was really just trying to find a way to contact you.

I appreciate each comment and love reading each one. Thank you!
Robin,
I don’t really enjoy making clothes, so I don’t sell them in my shop. I do sew some of Lily's dresses, but a lot of them I buy at Target and some of them I buy used. Also, I am lucky because my sister has a little girl a few years older than Lily and we get the clothes she outgrows!
My Grandma started sewing lessons with me when I was pretty little and when I was a teenager my Mom taught sewing lessons to me and my friends at school! I always had my Mom or Grandma show me what to do every step along the way. I didn’t even learn how to follow a pattern until I had a child of my own! I decided at that point in my life I needed to learn how to sew on my own! I started out making simple projects and only using simplicity patterns. They are pretty easy to follow.
The only advice I have is don’t get discouraged and don’t be afraid of messing up! I have had days when I have ripped out as many stitches as I put in:)

Thank you so much Amanda!
I used Simplicity 2989 for the dress and I made up the bear cape pattern.
