We were so sad on May 22, 2011 when a massive tornado hit Joplin, MO, destroying hundreds of homes.
In an effort to help Joplin rebuild, Extreme Makeover Home Edition came in and built 7 houses in 7 days for 7 families affected by the tornado! They built them all on the same street and made them all a totally different style.
My husband was excited when asked to be one of the builders!
The kids and I went down a few times to see the progress + I missed my man:)
Seeing volunteers working everywhere was amazing! It looked like chaos, but everyone knew what they were supposed to be doing and look what they had to show for all their hard work seven days later!
Isn't this backyard cool! I loved it!
My husband helped build this colorful Bohemian style house for this couple. They got married while their house was being built and their wedding will be aired on the show!
My husband gave me a tour of all the houses once they were finished. I loved seeing how each house was decorated! The cabinets were stocked with new dishes, appliances, and food. Even the kid's closets had new toys and clothes!
I can't wait to watch the show! It airs on ABC January 13, 2012.
That is so Awesome! The houses are all so unique and cute :)

I just came across your blog today via a pin of your ever so sweet felt dolls. I've just been sitting here scrolling away enjoying the beauty and serenity of your photos.
I chose this post to finally leave a note because, well, how cool is that that your husband got to participate in the EMHE. A friend of mine is the sister of one of the recipients of one of the homes, the Nevins Family. (That sentence holds a few too many "of"s).
You've got a beautiful family.
