I am sitting in a hospital room in Mexico. Galin is lying in bed beside me receiving treatment. The sun is shining brightly through the window and a nurse just peeked in to see if we needed anything. I brought a backpack full of books, my Bible, journal, and a laptop. I am sitting here thinking about how thankful I am to be here. I asked God to give Galin and I peace about where to go for treatment and we both feel like God led us here.
A few years ago my cousin’s best friend was diagnosed with cancer and she came to Mexico for treatment. I was so touched by her story and followed it closely online. Thank the Lord she is doing well now. My husband and I never would have considered going out of country for treatment if it wasn’t for her story. She has been so sweet and helpful during this time.
This hospital focuses on treating the whole body and not just the cancer. Galin is receiving small doses of chemo along with immunotherapy. The team of doctors and nurses are making our time here so pleasant and comfortable.
Being away from our kids for a few weeks has been hard but I know they are being so loved and cared for. I am thankful for FaceTime and for our amazing family stepping in and spoiling them while we are away.
Thank you, dear friends, for your encouraging words and prayers. They mean more to me than I know how to express. xox
