Hello friends:)
Here is a tutorial I put together for these little dolls. I made mine for a party, but I think they would look cute hanging in a little girl's room too. I hope you enjoy making them as much as I did.
Let me know if you have any questions, I'd be happy to help!
xoxo
Charla
DIRECTIONS:
1. Cut 2 of each pattern piece except pigtails and bangs.
2. Hand stitch face.
3. Sew head front to head back.
4. Sew the pigtails to the back of doll’s head.
5. Sew on the bangs.
6. Sew arms and legs together.
7. If you are using cotton fabric for the dress, make sure you use thick interfacing or batting; otherwise the doll won’t be able to stand up.
8. Sew dress front to dress back making sure you sew the head, arms, and legs inside as you go around.
You should be able to pull this pattern off my blog and enlarge it to the size you want your dolls to be. The ones I made are six inches tall. I made them out of scraps of felt, wool, fabric, dmc floss, and ribbon.
I got to spend last weekend with my sisters working on projects. It was just what I needed! I have been in such a sewing mood and have had a hard time getting anything done since someone around here is going through the terrible twos! haha;) I finished this dress and started making several new things for my shop. I will show you what I've been working on soon!
seeing the leaves change colors, carving pumpkins, making candied apples, and watching the excited children dressed in their cute costumes on Halloween night.
This year I made Lily's costume. I fell in love with a Little Red Riding Hood outfit I saw on someone's blog a few years ago and knew if I ever had another girl I was going to make her one for Halloween. I wish I could remember where I saw it so I could post a link.
(edited)...Oh I found the lady that inspired this dress. Check out her beautiful work...Nathalie Bearden
I hope your week is going great! Do you have fun plans for the weekend? xox
This is a book I made for Lily while we were waiting for her travel call. There is a song stitched to each page. I sang these songs to my three older kids so many times when they were babies and could hardly wait until I could hold Lily in my arms and sing them to her too!
She just recently started trying to sing with me. Hearing her sing Jesus Loves Me is one of the sweetest things I've ever heard.
After falling in love with these adorable birds...posie
My sister and I decided to have a craft day and make a few of our own. This one is going on a shelf in Kayla's room.
